What's wrong with this bike (or me?)

I'm 19 years old and I replaced my Honda XL250 with a Suzuki Savage. I like or better "liked" the Savage alot. But now I have some problems. First I had an oil leak and I got it fixed. Now I still have that terrible noise from the belt! A month ago my engine was destroit because there was no oil! The light of my savage never warned me! And is it possible that the oil runs dry in 3 months? Lights the oil lamp up when you start the engine?

I hope someone can help me because I'm breaking down.
